01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Situated on the ground floor of Garden Grace Shinagawa Gotenyama, Aeka by Cafe comme ca offers seasonal fruits and vegetables prepared with a light touch. Guests can settle into the indoor tables for an unhurried meal or tea, or opt for takeout to enjoy elsewhere without fuss.
The savory menu centers on pasta selections crafted to highlight balanced ingredient pairings. In the eggplant and tuna tomato sauce pasta, the sweetness of the eggplant and the mild acidity of cherry tomatoes unite with tuna to produce a richly layered profile. Options adapt easily to the mood of the day, whether choosing an avocado and bacon carbonara that layers fresh cream with savory cheese and salty bacon, or a Japanese-style whitebait and oba leaf pasta built on gentle dashi and soy sauce accented by aromatic shiso.
For a lighter meal, the cafe also offers generously filled sandwiches. Choices such as the sausage and veggie sandwich—pairing juicy sausage with mustard relish and coleslaw—and a shrimp and guacamole option with plump prawns and avocado touched with gentle spice deliver a satisfying bite.
Desserts laden with fruit and chilled sweets provide a natural finish after a meal or a peaceful afternoon pause. The fruit cakes on display feature lightly sweetened cream that lets the natural texture of the fruit lead, offering an eye-catching presentation well suited for celebrations or gifts. In addition, the fresh raw-milk gelato comes in clean, refreshing flavors distinct to Kanagawa Prefecture, including pure milk alongside Ashigara green tea, Shonan lemon, and Shonan Gold citrus.
The beverage roster ranges from blended and iced coffee to juice made from Unshu mikan oranges grown in Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture, as well as herbal tea infused with rosehip and hibiscus. Whether settling into the calm dining area for lunch or picking up a slice of seasonal cake to take home, it serves as a comfortable, welcoming stop.
